Can you reshape, clean, and stretch hats not bought from McKinney Hat Co?

Yes, absolutely! We are happy to shape and clean hats that were not bought from us. Bring your hat in anytime for our team to take a look—pricing typically starts around $15 depending on the material and condition.

How do I measure my head to find my hat size?

Measure around your head about an inch above your eyebrows and ears using a soft tape measure, then match the measurement in inches or centimeters to our sizing chart.

What if I’m between sizes?

We recommend sizing up and using hat sizing inserts/reducers to achieve a snug, comfortable fit.

How should I store and care for my hat?

Store your hat upside down on its crown or on a hat rack to keep the brim shape. Avoid high heat and moisture, and brush felt hats regularly with a horsehair brush. Use a paper towel and straw hat cleaner for straw hats.

Do I need an appointment to visit or get my hat shaped?

No appointment is necessary! You are welcome to walk into any of our locations anytime during business hours.

Do you offer private events?
